In the Old Testament, the menorah (Heb. - menorah) was the most important accessory of the tabernacle, and later - the Jerusalem temple. It was made of gold and had the appearance of a stem, approved on a stand. On its branches were seven lamps filled with pure olive oil. The lamps were lit every evening and burned all night. The menorah was a symbol of the presence among the people of God, who dresses with light as a garment (Ps. 104:2). In the New Testament Church of Christ, the menorah is perceived as a sacred symbol of the grace-filled gifts of the Holy Spirit.
