What is the internal structure of the temples?

The internal structure of the temples is that they are divided into three parts: 1) altar — East, the front part of the temple, for vasenmalerei, 2) the actual temple or real temple, the middle temple, and 3) the vestibule, or otherwise known as the refectory, the Western part of the temple, with closed or open entrance, called puperty—a place for praying. The altar is separated from the present so-called temple of the iconostasis, i.e. special wall, decorated with icons in several rows, with three doors. In the altar we see two tables, the first right over the middle, called the Royal doors, which is called the Holy see, and the other to the North from the throne, which is called the Altar, and for the most part simple, and in some temples and sublime, with the seat place behind the throne, called the Mountain (MT. E. with the Slavic language of exaltation) me-Stom. In this temple we see the exalted place before the iconostasis is called the Solea, it is against the king's gate with their exaltation, called the Pulpit, and on the sides of two special places for readers and singers called a Choir. The whole interior of the temple, especially on the iconostasis, decorated with Holy images: icons and sacred paintings in the iconostasis are placed in a known order. (See. the pattern of the iconostasis). And every temple, except the poorest, distinguished by a special beauty.

Why churches are divided into three parts?

This is done following the example of old Testament Jewish temple, arranged according to the pattern shown by God Himself. In the temple was: 1) Holy of Holies — the most sacred place, as shows its name, where only once. a year the high priest entered; 2) the Sanctuary, where the priests performed the service, and 3) the court where the people prayed.

In order to see the value of separation of Church into 3 parts, it is necessary to represent the structure of the Church, i.e. the community of believers who gather to the temple for prayer. The society that consists, firstly, of the saints, already cheering on the sky. Such saints as it were, and depicts him in the temple Holy place —the altar, with employees in it the clergy and still vasenmalerei the temple altar. Chrome the saints, the community of believers consists of the so-called perfect, i.e., believers living Holy and virtuous. Represents those in the temple a real temple and is still committed in the temple. In addition to the saints, and committed, in the community of believers are still imperfect, i.e., sinners, penitents, and catechumens, i.e., through the hearing of faith preparing for baptism adults and even unbaptized Christian babies. Thereof, and represents in the Church narthex and in ancient times those catechumens and penitents took place only in the porch.
