Regulations on the workers of the monastery

I. ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOURISM, PILGRIMAGE AND WORK.

Each person comes to the monastery to solve his inner task, even if not always fully realized. For a TOURIST, first of all, it is important to have a comfortable rest, to get acquainted with the amazing northern nature. The PILGRIM dreams of bowing to the saints, taking part in the church services of unique beauty, receiving spiritual help and support from the monastery confessor, and praying. Some pilgrims want to combine participation in worship and excursions with feasible work for the benefit of the monastery.
In addition to pilgrims, WORKERS also work in the monastery for the Glory of God. The laborers are employed in various monastic obediences (works). Male laborers eat in the fraternal refectory. In fact, the worker becomes a member of the monastic family or monastic brotherhood for the duration of his stay in the monastery.
